Stepping up for Seniors one brush stroke at a time!
Waterloo, ON, June 4th, 2009: In a day when belts are tightening and the word free is almost unheard of, the local members of the International Union Painters and Allied Trades local 1824 are continuing their effort to help out seniors.
This Saturday June 6th (weather permitting) will see the wrap up of the 26th Annual Housing Painting Project. A local senior was selected to have their home completely repainted and finished. Work has been progressing this week with the wrap up scheduled for this Saturday 9am to noon.
Local Manger Ken Reid had this to say regarding the project; "Our members really enjoy the opportunity to give back to the community and help out. The event brings out the best in people with Tim Hortons donating free coffee, KFC providing lunch, Glidden providing the paints and of course our members doing the work, all free of charge. It's an event we have been doing for years and will continue to do so."
